RAF Martlesham Heath Roll of Honour

Being a resident of Martlesham Heath I have always been aware of the importance of RAF Martlesham Heath during the Second World War.

Many famous people flew from RAF Martlesham Heath during the Second World War including Douglas Bader and Standford Tuck. RAF Martlesham Heath was also the base for the famous USAAF 356th Fighter Group.

Although the brave men of the USAAF 356th Fighter Group are commemorated by name on the monuments at Barrack Square in Martlesham Heath. No roll of honour exists for the British, Commonwealth, Dominion and allied airmen who were killed operating at, over or from RAF Martlesham Heath.

Rob Drake has spent a year and a half researching all of the servicemen that gave the ultimate sacrifice and produced a roll of honour dedicated to their memory.
