P51 Mustang Kit Reviews Introduction

The P-51 Mustang. Ranking number three in the top twelve of most memorable aircraft. Initially a failure let down by it’s poor engine the P-51 Mustang was transformed by the installation of the Rolls Royce Merlin engine. For many years I thought the ‘Merlin’ engine was named after the mythical wizard from King Arthur. No so. It is named after the Merlin bird (a small falcon native in North America and Europe).

The model market has many variants and scales of the P-51 Mustang available. The Japanese kits are superbly detailed and the aftermarket accessories and decals will enhance these lovely kits still further.
